For Andrew Shkin AKA DJ Randm this might be applied to his whole DJ career. As many DJs out there he started playing house music at private parties, but he made it to the clubs only after turning to drumandbass music. And with dnb he started with mixing soulful and melodic tunes later tending to more mainstream stuff without loosing what one might call his own style. The music that influenced Andrew reminds of something you might expect to be liked by John B: lots of 80s music, lots of electro, and lots of vocal tracks.

He also happened to be the first Belarusian DJ that decided not to take part in the everlasting Vinyl vs. CD argument and started playing using a laptop and a midi-controller. Right now everyone is mixing digital tracks and recordings, but back when he started playing in clubs the early 2007 it was quite a bold move and he was the first DJ in the country to try the 100% digital way. As it ceased to be a novelty he started adding vinyl to his record collection though. Now it’s about 50/50.

Now in 2009 he is one of the few Minsk dnb DJs who is likely to be booked by almost any local promoter and does not just stick to some small communities that love some certain dnb subgenre. He is also the one who has got the highest position among the local dnb DJs in the ongoing DJ-Battle 2008 contest.
